Bonne lecture ;)

Petra
or Waiting in silence
She couldn't breathe
She couldn't move
She could do nothing but wait.
And she had been waiting
For years.
He had left years ago.
Never came back.
Not a single time.
Yet she was still there.
Waiting.
She never cried.
Rain had washed Earth so many times
Yet she was still there.
What else could she do ?
She couldn't move a finger.
She was wearing the same dress.
The only one she ever wore,
The only one she would ever wear.
Couldn't change it.
Waiting to be sure.
Sure that he wouldn't come back.
Sure that she had waited for nothing.
She had a child in her arms, and stared at the horizon.
A little smile was on her face, lighting it up.
Did she know at that very time the truth ?
Did she know he had been brought down ?
No, she didn't.
Nobody told her.
And, anyway; she didn't want to know.
Hope was the only thing to keep her alive.
And Faith.
And Love.
And then, whistling objects came falling from the skies.
Explosions echoed in the city.
The air turned to reddish powder.
And the statue was destroyed.
No time to shed tears anymore.
War had come back.
And everything burst in flames.
Even hope.
