Hello everyone. So recently my english teacher gave me this essay of 50 words to do. She also gave me this question to answer to :
"How does it make you feel to know that in our society there is privilege attached to white skin ?" You might think that this is a delicate question to answer to, but I wanted to share the text I wrote to have other people's point of view.
I think that there is not a privilege attached to being white skinned but if we look closer to our society there are a lot of examples that can prove that there is.
People are just taught indirectly to ignore them in some way.
For example : The bandaids people use when they have cuts are white/flesh colour and the shampoo in hotels is never for ethnic hair types.
We don't notice this because we are used to them.
White skin privilege does exist, if we want it to.
