Old
you and I are walking side by side
the same old walk on the same old streets
comfortable in our shared silence
it has been many years
we've had our lot of petty fights
disappointments
misunderstandings
our love is an old war vet
covered with marks and scars
perhaps missing a couple fingers
and quite a few youthful illusions
there are some glorious memories
and not so glorious ones
the thrill and palpitations are gone
and all the pretty medals of the years
don't seem to matter much sometimes
but you and I are walking side by side
and there is nothing more beautiful
than the warm touch of your hand
sitting in my hand

Un bien joli poème d'amour, très attendrissant...
